Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me,
for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.
(Matthew 11:29-30, NIV)
There are burdens that the believer is never meant to carry–guilt, doubt, fear, shame.
But there are burdens that our dear Father willingly places on our shoulders that He
does not intend to remove. He wants us to roll them back on Him–
heartache, loss, suffering, need.
Give your burdens to the LORD, and he will take care of you. (Psalm 55:22, NIV)
What is your burden today? Can you name it? Ask the Spirit to show you.
Ask the Lord if the yoke you bear is His or yours. Ask Him for the grace to let go of
everything and every effort that is not of God. If you’re not sure, ask the Holy Spirit to
make it clear, He said to learn from Him.
Jesus is your rest. Go to Him.
